April 2010

Post-Easter April 2010

Margaret eventually got better health wise. It seemed like it took forever to get past that nasty virus she had.  But as the weather got better so did she.  Spring came extra early so we took advantage of it.  The girls enjoyed playing in the sun, Michael got a head start on finishing the fence around the garden, and I was able to get a little earlier start in my garden.

We also had the joy of celebrating my nephew Brennan's Baptism.  Michael and I are thrilled to be his Godparents.  It just gives us one more good reason to spoil him :)

The Month of May in Photos

Addie is turning into quite the soccer star. She finished up the spring season with some nice weather (for a change), and we got her signed up for the fall.

Emily has talked about wanting to raise chickens for quite some time. We finally took the plunge. With the garden getting in shape, we'll have a good place for the coup and pen. The girls (all three) are positively giddy about the chickens, who are camping out in the back yard until the coup is done.

The hens are about 2 months old. In a coule more, they'll start producing.

I started their pen this weekend. The 'shelf' on the right is the roost, and the nesting box will go below it. We used scraps and samples from the bathroom floor to cover the floor of the coup.

As, I mentioned, the garden is shaping up. 8 of the 9 beds are in, and we're holding off on the last one since it was already planted.

Last, but not least, we have grass in the front yard! What was quickly becoming a dust bowl, is looking more and more like lawn every day.

A very good month.

A 4-year old's point-of-view

About a year ago, Addie became not only fascinated with cameras, but with using our digital camera. It was after a couple rounds of "let me take a picture" that we started looking into cameras for kids. No need to wonder where birthday money went. And that was money well spent. Addie loves to take pictures with it and so do her friends. They may not come out that great, but its always interesting to see what she or her friends has chosen to commit to photo.

Momma, multitasking.

Seemingly, her two favorite subjects...

... her room and her toys.

Lastly, an update on our camera: According to Fuji's friendly customer service rep, we should get our camera back in 2-3 weeks. I know. I'm hoping that this is just a canned answer that they tell everybody irregardless of the actual repair time, and that we'll see it sooner than that. Mad Mushroom was our favorite pizza place in college. The same guy was always taking delivery orders and said it would be there in 45 minutes. Somehow, without fail, you would have pizza in-hand in more like 10-15 minutes.

Fingers crossed.

So many pictures

...where to begin? According to Flickr, we have over 3,900 photos uploaded. This may be tougher than I thought.

From the 2005-02-12 photo set:

I've always loved this one.

Something about this dress always turned Addie into a wild woman.
