Christmas Break Fun

Christmas break is over.  If you ask anyone in our house it was to short!  We had a lot of fun but with the warm up and snow melting the fun was cut to short.

The day after Christmas we took the girls to Five Pines. They have a huge 400 ft. tubing hill and lots of cross country skiing trails.  The girls had a blast tubing.  Addie and I sneaked away for a little while and went skiing as well.  It was such a great day that we decided on the drive home that it would be new Christmas tradition to do this every year the day after Christmas.

Addie spent a day with a friend at the local nature center.  They went snow shoeing, sledding, tracking, ate pizza and learned about winter nature stuff.  They had a blast even through they were not in the same group all the time.

Margaret enjoyed having her sister home and both girls had friends come over through out the week. We ended the break with a fun New Years Eve party.  We did a New Years in Paris theme.  We moved the clocks to French time (midnight at 6pm (yeah)), ate lots of french food, listened to a french radio station streaming on line and watched the Eiffel tower at midnight their time.  The girls love ringing in the new year with lots of noise and cheering.  It was fun for all and the kids felt like they stayed up late even though they made it to bed by 9pm. Unfortunately we had so much fun that both Michael and I forgot to take pictures!  We are kicking ourselves, because we had such a fancy table full of food and the kids had a blast.  Oh well, I guess we will have to do it again next year!

cool idea to do a Paris theme so the girls were able to celebrate and not have to stay awake until midnight...heck it can be tough to keep myself awake until midnight!
